EVENING WITH THE STARS CELEBRITY GALA
TO BENEFIT CHILDREN WITH CANCER
La Crescenta , California , May 12,
2008…It's not
your typical gala, black tie affair, auction or fundraiser,
but the DESI GEESTMAN FOUNDATION has a new event on its calendar
that can best be described as "an experience"!
The new Evening with the Stars Celebrity Gala being held
on October 11, 2008 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal
City will be an event you won't want to miss!
"This year Evening with the Stars is being held at
a completely new venue with a transformation from a cocktail
party to a Celebrity Gala," says Desi Geestman Foundation
founder Ileana Geestman. "And we are delighted to host
such an exciting and rewarding evening with daytime celebrities
who give their support to this special charity."
This hallmark event gives guests and sponsors unprecedented
opportunity to meet, mingle and dine with some of the most
popular stars of daytime television. National networks represented
include ABC, NBC, CBS, and SoapNet with stars from top shows
such as General HospitalThe Young and the Restless, The Bold
and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives.
The Desi Geestman Foundation (DGF) is a 501c3 non-profit
organization. DGF is named in honor of Desi Geestman, a brave
twelve year old girl who fought a courageous battle with
Neuroblastoma at The City of Hope. Desi expressed her wish
to help other cancer patients and their families which is
how DGF came to life. DGF has grown from a wish by our namesake
to an organization providing vital assistance to hundreds
of children since 1999. The Mission of the foundation is
to improve the quality of life for children suffering from
cancer and their families. The foundation based in Los Angeles
and works to provide environments of support that alleviate
emotional and economic trauma. After the founding of the
DGF in 1999, the cast and crew from shows of daytime television
quickly enlisted to help raise funds and awareness of pediatric
cancer and the impact the disease has on the entire family.
In previous years more than 500 guests attended the event
to see Stars which included Doug Savant, Maurice Bernard,
Ted, King, Kelly Monaco, Corbin Bernsen, Cynthia Preston
, Alicia Leigh Willis, Ron Moss, Natalia Livingston, Christian
LeBlanc and many, many more.
Tickets for this "STAR" event
are $125.00 per person and include dinner, music and dancing,
networking and photo opportunities with celebrities and
silent auction. (Limited seating) Event sponsorship and
